Yummy Strawberry Jello Cake

My Mom has been making this cake for as long as I can remember.  I know this because when I was a kid, she made me this cake for every birthday.  I used to only love the frosting but now I love the cake even more.

It’s a timeless classic that will never go out of style or stop being delicious.  You can garnish it with fresh-cut strawberries and blueberries or whatever fruit you enjoy.

HERE’S WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE THE CAKE

1 pkg          Strawberry Jello

1/2 cup     Boiling water

1 pkg         White cake mix

4                 Eggs

2/3 cup     Vegetable oil

Dash          Salt

1/2 pkg     Frozen strawberries (1 lb pkg)

 

Here’s what to do:

Dissolve Jello in boiling water, stir and let cool. 

Add remaining ingredients and mix well.   Bake in 2 layer pans or one 9 x 13 pan sprayed with non-stick spray at 375o for 25 – 30 min.

Icing

Ingredients:

I box           powdered sugar

1/2 pkg       frozen strawberries (1lb pkg) adding a little at time

1/4 lb          butter softened

Dash           salt

Mix well and spread over cooled cake. Enjoy!
